چکیده

Based on the observed strong-motion records of K-NET and KiK-net, we utilized 1,065 earthquake observation stations installed throughout Japan, gathering more than 140,000 recordings for weak motions with a peak ground acceleration (PGA) less 100 cm/s2 5,300 strong PGA cm/s2. These sites detected at least one recording value greater were used to quantify horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio (HVSR) difference between shakings. observations, discrepancy in HVSR shakings can be depicted as shift both frequency amplitude axes logarithmic coordinate system. This kind favorably interpreted by an established diffused field theory earthquakes. concept shifts, new empirical functions are proposed modify averaged linear cases order acquire nonlinear regimes. Subsequently, improved vertical amplification correction function, which considers time-averaged shear wave velocity down 30 m, was convert modified into horizontal site factor (HSAF) The methodology adopted this study, does not require detailed soil layer information, is convenient obtaining HSAF considering empirically obtained behaviors.

Strong motions observed by K-NET and KiK-net during the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake sequence

The nationwide strong-motion seismograph network of K-NET and KiK-net in Japan successfully recorded the strong ground motions of the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake sequence, which show the several notable characteristics. For the first large earthquake with a JMA magnitude of 6.5 (21:26, April 14, 2016, JST), the large strong motions are concentrated near the epicenter and the strong-motion attenuat...

Estimating near-surface shear wave velocities in Japan by applying seismic interferometry to KiK-net data

We estimate shear-wave velocities in the shallow subsurface throughout Japan by applying seismic interferometry to the data recorded with KiK-net, a strongmotion network in Japan. Each KiK-net station has two receivers; one receiver on the surface and the other in a borehole. By using seismic interferometry, we extract the shear wave that propagates between these two receivers. Applying this me...

A Petri Net Based Method for Deriving Distributed Specification with Optimal Allocation of Resources

In this paper, we present a method for the synthesis of extended Petri net based distributed specification. Although a lot of synthesis methods have been proposed, only a few synthesis methods have treated resources (computational data) such as databases and files. In contrast to previous methods that assume some fixed resource allocation, our method finds an optimal resource allocation that op...

Deepr: A Convolutional Net for Medical Records

Feature engineering remains a major bottleneck when creating predictive systems from electronic medical records. At present, an important missing element is detecting predictive regular clinical motifs from irregular episodic records. We present Deepr (short for Deep record), a new end-to-end deep learning system that learns to extract features from medical records and predicts future risk auto...

Effects of Surface Geology on Seismic Motion

Site amplification factors at period ranges of 0.1-0.2, 0.2-0.3, 0.3-0.5, 0.5-1, 1-2, and 2-10 s were determined for 27 stations of KiKnet and K-NET in and around the source area of the 2008 Iwate-Miyagi Nairiku earthquake. The ratio of the geometric mean values of the two maximum horizontal amplitudes of acceleration and velocity at the uphole to that at the downhole is considered as the ampli...
